When to Go
Chacahua's best weather is usually between October and March. The daytime temperatures are usually in the 80s, with night temperatures usually in the low 70s. April and May tend to be the hottest months of the year. If you prefer to avoid crowds, it's best not to go during the peak Mexican travel seasons (Christmas to New Year's and Spring Break). Spring Break is also known as Semana Santa. People from Mexico flock to the coast from about mid-March to the end of March. But if you like crowds, these may be the best times for you to go.
The water temps in Chacahua are usually about as good as it gets. The water is normally in the high 70s to low 80s. You won't see anyone surfing in a wetsuit here.
If you are coming to Chacahua for the surf, the largest waves usually hit the coast from May through July. If you like mild waves or are just learning to surf, you might be better off visiting between November and March.
While April and May are usually the hottest months, seasonal rain usually arrives from June through August. Rain often falls during the night, helping reduce daytime temperatures. The rain often brings with it some spectacular lightning shows. If you like the sound of rain on the roof while you are in bed, it might be a great time of year for you to go so long as a little heat doesn't bother you. You won't find any crowds in the summertime.
