Ocean & Bay

Life abounds off the coast of Chacahua. On any given day you might see whales, turtles, dolphins, or even a school of manta rays as they fly out of the water. It's as if they're trying to see which one can catch the most air as they race across the bay (see the video below).

A humpback whale passes Chacahua as it migrates up the coast towards Baja California. The best times to see whales migrating is in November and December but you are still likely to see them in January and February as well.

Manta rays take flight (seen from Los Delfines restaurant).

Birdrock with pelicans

Pelicans love to hang out on the rocks just off shore.
